Edwina Griffin 

Edwina

Edwina has run her business since 1995, and is the director of real body management, a group of companies including fitmenTM. She has been a personal trainer for over fifteen years, and a corporate presenter and motivational speaker for five. She is qualified in hypnosis and is an NLP practitioner. She does group performance coaching as well as individual coaching sessions to complement health and fitness programmes for clients as well as offering healing sessions.

Edwina has trained clients individually, in small groups, sporting teams and corporate groups. She incorporates postural exercises in her weights programmes, and has a holistic approach to programme design, including not only cardio-vascular and weight training, but also incorporating some yoga, Pilates and Thai-chi exercises. She is qualified in not only personal training, corrective exercise, yoga, aqua, Pilates but also has a background in athletics, competing in national teams for 400m hurdles.

Edwina has done corporate presenting and has presented for Fitness NSW. She has produced a DVD for exercise during pregnancy and has worked extensively with women both during pregnancy and post-natal. She is a qualified Chek practitioner and Nutrition and Lifestyle Coach Level II. Edwina also writes on health and fitness for Nature and Health magazine and runs adventure days and trips with Adventurewomen. She has expanded her original business fitwomenTM into several companies under Real Body Management which include FitMum, fitmenTM, AdventureMen, AdventureMen, the Sanctuary of Light and her motivational speaking site Edwina Griffin.

When not instructing, Edwina enjoys hiking in the mountains, snow-skiing, surfing, paragliding, theatre,playing the piano and meditation is a part of her daily life. She has a certificate in shamanic practice, certificate in energetic healing and is currently studying a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy

 

 

Vanessa

Vanessa is originally from Brazil and has been working as a personal trainer since 2001.She has a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in anatomy, physiology and nutrition as well as a Diploma in Fitness, Certificate IV in Massage and Pilates matwork. 

Vanessa is passionate about making the world a fitter healthier place and believes there is nothing more empowering than watching your body change for the better.

Evangeline

Evangeline was first introduced to yoga in 2001 when she took a yoga class in her hometown of San Francisco. Working in the fashion industry, she was always stressed out and discovered that a regular yoga practice calmed her nerves and helped her to feel better about herself. Since 2005, Evangeline has taught in San Francisco, Vancouver and Sydney.

In 2007, she participated in some workshops and teacher trainings with Twee Merrigan and in 2009 completed Body Mind Life's Advanced Yoga Teacher Training- 500 hours. "I love teaching yoga and sharing this passion with others. It's something I feel good about. As my yoga practice has evolved over the years, so have I. I strive to remain calm, present and aware at all times and live the yoga life on and off the mat. I encourage students to relax, have fun and live yoga. Yoga is a beautiful and lifelong experience and has changed my life.

 

Greer

Greer

Greer has a stong background in dance; from the age of 5 until 21 she trained in many styles of dance, primarily ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, & contemporary. Throughout her life, dance has been my main form or exercise and she is a strong believer in its benefits, to ease tensions built up in body and mind, self confidence and the physical benefits of improved strength, co-ordination, aerobic ability & flexibility.Greer has also taken up Capoeira, the Brazilian dance/martial art. She loves the fluidity and gracefulness that can come from martial arts movements.

Greer sees Zumba as a great blend of dancing and fitness with different steps and fun music to keep your mind engaged while delivering an effective muscle toning and cardio workout. Teaching Zumba fitness classes has re-ignited her passion for dance and it keeps her fit without feeling like an effort!

Greer is a member of the official Zumba Instructor network and is constantly updating her Zumba music and routines to keep her class fresh and fun.

 

 Justine

Justine
Justine began practising yoga 10 years ago, as a means of addressing chronic neck pain, and has delved into many different styles of yoga including Iyengar and Ki. In this time the obvious transformation and healing that took place led her to complete her teacher training. This was done under the guidance of Katie Spiers.
Justine teaches a dynamic Hatha yoga with a focus on breath and movement, working with both stronger and more restorative postures. Incorporating pranayama practices and relaxation, you are encouraged to cultivate awareness, tolerance and acceptance in your practice with the aim of achieving a greater sense of well-being and calm. Currently studying Naturopathy, Justine incorporates a growing understanding of holistic health into her yoga teaching.

Leonie 

 

Leonie

Leonie has been practicing both Ashtanga, Hatha and Iyengar Yoga for 10 years and has a very devoted keen awareness to the benefits of Yoga in daily life.

Coming from an athletic background training in middle distance running, Leonie found that adding just 2-3 yoga sessions to her training regime she not only found that it helped her with her running but also found that her mind was a lot clearer and more switched on. As a result of becoming more aware within her mind, body and spirit from having a consistent yoga schedule she then started taking regular trips to India to practice with both the Indians and the westerners in India providing a sound integration for her own practice.

Still practicing yoga on a regular basis and travelling between India and Australia, Leonie teaches Hatha, Ashtanga and pre-natal yoga throughout the Sydney area.

 

 Lou

Lou Sheppeard 

Lou has practiced Pilates for over 12 years, first studying the classical technique with New York Pilates Method under the guidance of master teacher Romana Kryzanowska ( who was taught be Joseph Pilates himself), she has continued to explore the diverse range of contemporary approaches to the method including Pilates for fitness with Stott Pilates and rehabilitative Pilates with Polestar. The diversity of theses techniques has enabled Lou to enhance her own practise and range of approaches.

Scott specialises in acupuncture, massage therapy and reflexology treatments He began his career in massage over 20 years ago. He has a Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture and a Diploma in Oriental Massage and Reflexology.Scott has competed in sport his whole life and his treatments range from sports injuries to relaxation and energy work.

 Sharon

Sharon

Sharon's experience with Yoga began in the late 90's where she was fortunate enough to discover inspirational teachers whose authentic and heartfelt teachings encouraged her on a pathway of committed practice, and eventual study and teaching.Sharon is a certified Hatha Yoga teacher, Level 2 Member and NSW Representative of the Yoga Teachers Association of Australia (YTAA), and a member of the International Yoga Teachers Association (IYTA).She has also completed extensive additional studies with the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram based in Chennai, India - where world renowned teacher Sri TKV Desikachar, his family and senior teachers,are based.Sharon is committed to making the practice of Yoga available to all individuals - regardless of age, state of health, ability and special needs.

 Shaktini - Profile

Shaktini
Born into a yogi-family, Yoga belonged to her life since early childhood.
13 years ago, she started to deepen the practice by studying intensively various styles, such as Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar, traditional Hatha as well as Pranayama and Meditation. Feeling more and more inspired to follow the yogic path, she went to Australia in 2003 and completed the 9-month intensive Yoga Teacher Training at Yogarts in Byron Bay.

During the classes she brings the students' focus on the breath, body and the mind. Trying to become more alert to thoughts, not getting lost in the daydreaming.She encourages the students to transfer the stamina, lightness, strength and flexibility from the yoga mat into their daily life.

 

Skye

 

Skye’s love of flow and movement began at a young age.  Practicing ballet for 13 years inspired her to keep her body flexible and she found her love of yoga while living in Los Angeles working in the tourism and hospitality industry. 

Skye's passion for teaching yoga inspired her to leave her corporate career in 2008 to focus on a more holistic lifestyle and cater to the desires of others striving for the ultimate life/work balance.

With more than 10 years' corporate experience in Australia, London, Japan, Canada and the US, Skye Baird brings her passion for wellness and healing back to her hometown of Sydney.Skye completed her Yoga Alliance Accreditation in 2008 in Santa Monica, California and has trained in the latest Hatha yoga techniques.She has studied with LA’s finest yoga teachers and has studied more than 60 asanas (postures), along with meditation, philosophy, anatomy and sequencing designed to promote flexibility and vitality.

 

 

 Tyron - Profile

 Tyron

Tyron is a keen cyclist and mountain biker, and no training session is too tough for him! He lives by example and has a passion for his sport, both winning and achieving a  top three placing in numerous national cycling. Tyron is a top level athlete but he adjusts programmes based on individual needs, keeping plenty of fun and variety in all his sessions.Tyron loves to play touch football and AFL in his spare time.

 

 Veronique - Profile

 Veronique
Veronique is a qualified Sivananda Yoga teacher. She has 20 years of personal training experience with Iyengar Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga. She recently moved to teach Hatha Yoga, combining her knowledge of other branches of Yoga with her latest Sivananda Yoga training. Veronique is enthusiastic in her approach to yoga. She develops individual and group programs according to people's needs. She strives to help people improve their health and wellbeing and organises motivational weekends combining yoga and meditation. Veronique is a qualified Sivananda yoga teacher, counselling certificate from the College of Applied Psychology and a trained Doula.
